Pukipuki Cupid For Sale!

Here's the DoA link!

I would very much like to sell this cutie before Friday when I move back to the dorms for summer research, so here's hoping something cracks before then. XD The post has been up for six days now and absolutely nothing has come from it. Am I charging too much here? So long as I get above $175 for her I'll be happy, so maybe tomorrow (the one week mark) I'll bump her down to $190...

Then on the 29th I'll make another lolita sales post so I can clear out my wardrobe a bit there, too. I've got a slew of stuff coming in and a bunch of things I just don't wear enough to justify their lingering around, so clearing that up will be nice.

I'm just trying to get my stuff in order before I return to Williamsburg. XD

Convention Preparation Shenanigans!

So, I'm officially going to Otakon, which is going to be GREAT. I'm cosplaying one day (Karane from Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, in no small part because I got Zach to agree to cosplay as Pipit. XD We're gonna be adorable.) and sort of... pseudo-cosplaying for another? I'll be going in a Hulk-inspired lolita outfit, for a friend's group she's putting together. She'll be in a Captain America outfit, while Zach'll be Tony Stark and her fiance will (if she has her say) be Thor. Should be great fun.

I'm also officially selling my Pukipuki Cupid. I'd just much rather have that money freed up, ideally to funnel into a Minifee. It's just waaay too small for me, as cute as she is.

... also, I'm playing around chainmail, and making chainmail is fun.

FINALS AHOY.

My finals for this semester are in full swing. I had 1.5 today (Nuclear World, my history course, and my voice jury final), and I think both went pretty well! I got my grade back on a 1-credit course final, which was slightly lower than I wanted but I believe I still have an A overall in the course (and honestly that's what matters with college grades). I definitely need to learn to actually, y'know, proofread my essays prior to submitting them as I go into higher level courses. The feedback is always the same: excellent analysis, excellent ideas, but slightly fluffy/needs proofreading.

The one I'm most concerned for, Modern Physics, is Wednesday. I need to do five chapters tonight and five chapters + last year's final tomorrow, plus the review session. I just REALLY want to get above a 75 on it. I know that sounds like I'm aiming low, but this is the class where a >69 is a C+ (I think >75 is a B+, and an >85 is an A. MODERN IS HARD OKAY. XD)

Then I have a break until next Monday, when I've got my Experimental Atomic Physics final (just submitting a poster addressing what my lab group did for our special project) and my calc exam (which I'll need to study for because my professor definitely didn't teach us anything). Then psychology on Wednesday, then DONE!

Over winter break I'll need to be filling out internship applications, but I also want to do some sewing projects and hopefully do some photoshoots with Thom. I think I'm back to being on the fence with Clio, but since my family adores her I think she'll be sticking around (and since I'm fucking terrified of DoA sales now because of a really unfortunate interaction during a swap resulting in my getting negative feedback making me paranoid). I want to get her a green wig at some point and really turn her into an earth/history sprite (I associate the color green with history I DO NOT KNOW WHY). As I said before, I think she's gonna be my project doll.

I should REALLY get back to studying now, though, byeee.
So I've been a little inactive here. It's been kind of a roller coaster. I'm gonna try to catch up on things (WHEN DID EVERYONE START WRITING AGAIN THIS IS EXCITING), and maybe I'll get around to an explanation post, but... yeah. Hi, I'm back-ish? XD

This has no point, carry on.
Sooo. I'm back home for break. Went to take Clio out of her carrier (Or how I store her- I curl her up and tuck her into two of Thom's hats and put her in a pocket of Thom's huge DoD carrier) to take photos of her to put up a feeler...

... and she's just too cute.

Little bugger'll be sticking around after all. I still might dye her (or at least her hands and forearms/feet and shins), but... now I'm planning on getting her a face-up, so I might look into finding a nice face-up artist on DoA or reattempting one myself. I still want and plan on a Minifee Rena and/or Mirwen at some point, as well as a modded Zaoll Luv, a Soulldoll Lidell and some manner of snarky-looking MSD (if anyone knows of any snarky/sarcastic/smug looking mature MSDs taller than 43-45, lemme know- right now I'm considering a Unoa B-El or a Limwha Mono, but I'm just not sure). But, that's all waaay in the future, I figure.

I AM going to be selling (or trying to, anyway) some of my old anime stuff and some of my impulse-y lolita clothing buys. I've got a lot of manga I'd like to move (if only for the SPACE), some plushies, and maaaybe an artbook or two. We shall see. I just need to start fighting my RIDICULOUSLY quantities of clutter... and the money wouldn't be a bad thing.

So yeah. That was unexpected but. I'm pleased. c:

These doll plans...

I really, really want a minifee.

Specifically a Minifee Rena, because her impish face is adorable and perfect for my Kalina. She'd be a sort of cyberpunk pop star- in the Dreamverse (basically the internet, but much more virtual reality-esque: if anyone's read Snow Crash, think that) she's pop star Kiko Case, with a very Vocaloid-inspired look (yellow and orange are her colors). She kind of makes Tamara's life a headache, as she relies upon Tamara's coding (Tamara's kind of her 'manager', if you will.)

Or, well, I am SMITTEN with the new Mirwen, who would be PERFECT for the aforementioned Tamara. I love her somewhat serious, thoughtful face- she isn't cutesy or overly 'sexy' or anything, she just looks thoughtful and mature. Which is exactly what I want for Tamara.

Anyway, I think I'd be much happier with a minifee than my pukipuki. I'm going to put up a feeler for selling/partial trading my Cupid for funds for said minifee, and I'll work from there, I think. Fall break is next week so I can take pictures of my pukipuki to put up the feeler and make the final decision, but I'm pretty sure this'll work best for me. I might in future reshell Clio into a whiteskin pukifee Cupid or a Littlefee Dark Elf Soo- I did always love the DES head, but it was too anime for my 'plot' dolls, but as Clio is a 'muse' doll that might work perfectly. I just like pukipuki is a wee bit too tiny for me. XD

Other than that, my birthday was this past Wednesday, so I have some funds to play around with. I know for sure I'm getting a petticoat with some of it, but other than that I think it might go towards something doll-related... Haven't quite decided yet! I have options. n_n

Decisions...

I'm considering selling my Pukipuki Cupid.

I've... never really 'bonded' with the doll. I haven't even gotten around to giving it a face-up. I can't tell if the size is too small for me (which seems probable) or if I just don't like the skintone (I got natural when I fell in love with the beauty-white pictures). The character I had in mind for the doll isn't clicking and doesn't mesh with any of my other planned dolls (definitely not with Thom, at this point).

And yet, it's just so cute. :/

I don't have the doll with me. I'm going to decide in October (when I go back for fall break). I think it's the most logical choice as Clio is just sort of stuck on a dresser... and yet part of me doesn't want to.

Bah. Decisions are hard.

A bit of Thom

This mosaic maker is far too much fun. http://bighugelabs.com/mosaic.php I'll probably play around with it a bit more soon.

I SHOULD give a legit update but... I am one lazy panda. XD I go back to college in just two weeks, which I'm looking forward to. I've got some great classes lined up, plus once I get back I can begin work on (dramatic drum roll here) my space history blog! I'm starting a legit science-based blog focused on bringing attention to space history (which I feel is woefully neglected, but I might be biased). And I mean the whole shebang- getting my own domain name, commissioning a custom layout, etc. I might see about getting a small grant from my college to fund it... I might be able to swing that, actually, come to think of it. That'd be nice.

Anyway yeah! Good stuff.

Oh, what the hey, I'll update. XD

BJD Front:

I honestly don't know when I'll be able to get my next doll, or what my next doll will even BE. I really want to get a Zaoll Luv to mod into a boy (for my Nikolaos 'Niko' Yuran, and yes, that is an ungodly mesh of Greek and Russian names), but as I'm heading back to college soon I don't know if I want to undertake a mod project with my next doll (especially as I'm still trying to get around to dying Clio). My other options including Fairyland Minifees Rena and Woosoo (for Kalina 'Kiko' Case and Tamara Balk, respectively), Iplehouse JIDs Asa and Benny (Devyn Li Park and Rafaela 'Rafa' Clark), and a Limho Mano (Jonathon Jackson). These are all characters in a novel I'm working on framing (save for Nikolaos and Thomasina who are in a steampunk verse when in-character, anyway), so any one of them would be great to finally have, but I don't know which one and I don't know when, for that matter. @_@ As always financial situations are... iffy... in my life, so it all boils down to what I get for my birthday/Christmas/what-have-you. I'm considering getting a job during the school year, but I don't know if I'll have TIME, and I'm also considering selling some woven bead bracelets on Etsy... I guess we'll see what goes down.

Writing Front:

In addition to the blog I mentioned earlier, I'm working on framing out two different novel ideas. One of 'em will probably get used for NaNoWriMo- a steampunk/air-pirate piece, with main characters Thomasina Williams, Nikolaos Yuran, Vera McCoy (air pirate captain extraordinaire!), Gregory Hastens and Alysandra Peronel (not-so-mad scientist and engineer). Then there's a different kind of punk- cyberpunk. That one gets Dev, Rafa, Tamara, Kiko and Jonathon.

I need more male characters, oh dear. Anyway yeah. I SHALL WRITE. SERIOUSLY. Hopefully. Maybe? We'll see. xD

May. 13th, 2011

Things to bring to the dorm next year:

- Full-length mirror to hang SOMEWHERE
- Rug, preferably one that's easy to vacuum (my feet have been SO GROSS walking barefoot on this tile ew)
- Good quality headphones
- Lunchbox of some sort for the museum
- More socks (lol me)
- Spare hairbrush
- Print some new pictures + buy new picture frames
- More tea/better variety of tea
- Honey
- A huge thing of tissues to stash somewhere and break into when needed
- Footlocker (this is only because I got screwed over and ended up having to live in what is commonly known as the 'party' dorms on campus, otherwise I'd have no need for this- as it stands I still probably won't need it, but it'll put my mind at ease.)
- A DECENTLY SIZED PURSE

Things to do/make over the summer of a crafty persuasion:
- Pencil pouches, etc for Etsy shop
- Small flat things to make into keychains/pins/BJD stuffed animals for Etsy shop
- Tote bags for myself and Etsy shop
- Maybe try a purse?
- Apron for Thom
- Dye Clio's hands/wrists
- Make horns for Clio
- Face-up for Clio
- Try and find hooves for Clio
- Vases/baskets for Thom's flowers
- Slew of BJD-sized bound books for Thom and Etsy shop

And now for CONVENTION PLANNING:
- Orphan Anastasia Cosplay
- Air Pirate Fina Cosplay
- Kiyoshi Warrior Suki Cosplay
- Manga Sailor Mercury Cosplay
- THE RETURN OF THE KOUSUKE COSPLAY (I really want to redo my Kousuke Cosplay and do it RIGHT this time, not 'Oh god night before convention LET'S USE THIS SHOWER CURTAIN!')

In which I make some lists.
